There’s something about sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, that is exhausting.
We know that staying still all day is bad for us, our bodies know this as well. Now research suggests that it is not the sitting itself that is bad for health, it is how long you sit without getting up. The key does not rest in a static state, it is motion.
Over the past two years, I have settled into a very comfortable pattern. From a consistent, good, but wholly under-stimulating job, to a weekly rotation of dinner with friends, coffee shops on the weekends, errands around town, the occasional weekend trip. Of course none of this is bad, it is just... still.
So now it is time to move.
