There's this place in the Italian Riveira, tucked into the rugged coast, where the sea is turquoise and sparkling and a colorful village sits high above.
To get there, you have to descend 213 stairs, then hop across the rocks to get into the cove. Then you can lie out on the rocks, soak in the Italian summer sun, swim in the ocean, smell the salt in the air. This is my new happy place.
Cinque Terre is an incredible place - charming and breathtakingly beautiful. The five villages are linked by hiking trails that steeply climb the coast. The hikes are not easy, but then you'll round a corner to a view that makes you forget about everything else in the world. Plus, each new village brings the promise of a refreshing swim in the ocean, a cold beer, and another pistachio gelato.
