Brand & Marketing Management: Pepita Coffee Co., a Cambridge-based coffee shop and cafe.

Overview

Pepita Coffee Co. is a Cambridge-based coffee shop and cafe, with as strong community focus. In management of Pepita Coffee’s brand, I sought to strengthen this community of regulars while engaging new customers in the highly competitive food and beverage industry.

Brand management for a small, nimble brand like Pepita required a multi-faceted approach. When it came to social media, we focused on drool-worthy coffee and food pictures on Instagram with friendly, approachable captions to encourage engagement with our online community. I worked to make sure print materials, like menus, were true-to-brand and usable, while maintaining Pepita’s clean aesthetic.

Discoverability is key for small cafes, so I prioritized working with media to generate buzz and awareness for Pepita. Another significant responsibility I held was creating and maintaining our website, ensuring it is user-friendly and reflects Pepita's brand identity.

Working closely with the management team, I regularly prepared marketing insights and reports that inform decision-making for the overall business strategy. And who doesn’t love cute cafe merch? I curated and managed the design and selection for our cafe's merchandise offerings, including stickers, apparel, mugs, and other coffee-related accessories, creating additional brand exposure and revenue opportunities.
